My Story

I have over 14 years of experience in education and learning design, starting as a high school science teacher in New York and Mexico City, where I developed inquiry- and project-based curricula in both English and Spanish. As a department lead, I mentored educators and led curriculum initiatives, building a strong foundation in instructional design, assessment, and learning strategy. I hold a Master’s in Education, which continues to guide my approach to designing effective, learner-centered experiences today.

Building on my classroom experience, I’ve spent the past 4 years as a Learning Designer at Udemy. My work has grown from hands-on content development to shaping AI-powered learning experiences and influencing platform-wide product decisions. I collaborate closely with product, design, engineering, data science, and research partners to ensure learning science guides complex projects.

My initiatives include AI-assisted role plays that reached 19.6M learners globally and exceeded first-year adoption goals by 19x, personalized learning paths, and authentic practice tools that increased engagement by 60%. I prioritize embedding active learning and applied practice to ensure learners can transfer skills to real-world contexts. Alongside product work, I’ve partnered with technical subject-matter experts to design and scale project-based Labs in Azure, AWS, DevOps, and data science, maintaining instructional quality at scale.

I’m bilingual and have worked in both English- and Spanish-speaking learning environments. I’m especially interested in how AI can thoughtfully support learning while keeping humans actively involved in designing, guiding, and monitoring experiences. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, practicing yoga, and traveling, which are all activities that help me stay grounded, creative, and learner-centered in my work.
